The electronics wholesaler Westcoast, founded in 1984, distributes computer products including desktop PCs, laptops, servers, printers, handheld devices and extra memory. The Reading company is led by Joe Hemani, who is also a vice-president of Chelsea Football Club. It supplies goods made by Samsung, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft and Acer. Westcoast is considering expanding on to the Continent but two years ago its bid for Actebis, a larger German rival, was thwarted. Sales totalled £302.2m in 2004, an increase of £52m on the year.
