Whitworths has been importing dried fruit and nuts since 1886 and says it is Britain’s biggest healthy snack business. Under chief executive Peter Utting, 46, it imports 4,000 different items and its brands include Sunny Raisin, Frootz and Whitworths. In September, Equistone Partners Europe bought the Northamptonshire company from European Capital, valuing it at £90m.
