Whitworths has been importing food since 1886 and says it is Britain’s leading supplier of dried fruits, nuts and seeds, importing 400 different items from all over the world for baking and snacking. Its brands include Frootz and Sunny Raisins. In 2013, Equistone Partners Europe bought the Northamptonshire firm, valuing it at £90m. Mark Fairweather, 53, is chief executive.
