Fast Track 100

This Hertfordshire distributor hopes it has hit the jackpot for a second time by winning exclusive distribution rights in Britain to Pocket Surfer, a handheld device that allows users to access the internet direct. At £179.99, Pocket Surfer is due to hit the high street in time for Christmas. Former technology journalist Mark Needham founded Widget in 1987 to sell add-ons for the Psion computer, but the company really took off when it became the sole supplier of TomTom satellite navigation systems, selling up to 100,000 units a year to the likes of Dixons, Comet and Argos. Sales have grown 95% a year from £3.6m in 2004 to £27m in 2007.
