This Scottish distiller makes some of the world’s best-known whiskies, including single malt Glenfiddich, which it first produced in 1887. It also makes non-whisky drinks such as Sailor Jerry rum and Hendrick’s gin. In 2014, it opened a state-of-the-art whiskey distillery in Tullamore, Ireland — bringing whiskey production back to the town for the first time since 1954. Simon Hunt, 44, became chief executive in March when Stella David stepped down. It is owned by the Grant and Gordon families.
