This Scottish distiller makes some of the world’s best-known whiskies, including the single malt Glenfiddich. In 2015 the firm reported record profits of £187m, up 11% from the 2014 figure, fuelled by demand in Asia and America. In April it acquired Tuthilltown Spirits in America. Run by chief executive Simon Hunt, 45, on behalf of the Grant and Gordon family owners, it also makes Sailor Jerry spiced rum and Hendrick’s gin.
