This Scottish distiller makes some of the world’s best-known whiskies, including the single-malt Glenfiddich, as well as other spirits such as Sailor Jerry spiced rum and Hendrick’s gin. In 2016, the firm grew sales 20% to £1.1bn and saw profits rise 44% to £270m, driven by favourable foreign exchange rates and growth in the Americas and Asia. It is run by chief executive Simon Hunt, 46, on behalf of the Grant Gordon family owners.
