This Scottish distiller makes some of the world’s best-known whiskies, including single malt Glenfiddich, which it first produced in 1887. Led by chief executive Stella David, 52, and owned by the Grant and Gordon families, it also makes non-whisky drinks such as Sailor Jerry rum and Hendrick’s gin. Last year it acquired Drambuie for a reported £100m, before opening a state-of-the-art whiskey distillery in Tullamore, Ireland — bringing whiskey production back to the town for the first time since 1954.
