Founded by Yorkshire sugar beet trader William Reed more the 150 years ago, this fifth generation family owned business launched its flagship publication, The Grocer, in 1862. It now publishes a range of digital websites and magazines for the food and drink, leisure, hospitality, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals industries. The Gatwick-based company, which is led by group managing director Charles Reed, 55, also holds more than 40 events, conferences and exhibitions annually and made profits of £2.4m in 2014.
