Founded by Yorkshire sugar beet trader William Reed more than 150 years ago, this family-owned business launched its flagship publication, The Grocer, in 1862. It now runs digital websites and publishes magazines for the food and drink, leisure, hospitality, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals industries. The company, based in Gatwick, also holds more than 40 events, conferences and exhibitions annually and has subsidiaries in France, America, Peru and Singapore. International sales reached £9.9m in 2014, under group managing director Charles Reed, 55.
