The group began life almost 100 years ago as the Williams Wheelwright Works in Manchester, repairing horse-drawn vehicles. In 1926, the Williams family switched their attention to cars, but it was not until 1960 that they opened their first showroom. Still owned by the family, today the group consists of 10 dealerships across northwest England. It also has a rental division. The company had sales of £270.2m in 2007.
