The business began life almost 100 years ago in Manchester repairing horse-drawn vehicles as theWilliams Wheelwright Works. In 1926, the Williams family switched their attention to cars, but it was not until 1960 that they opened their first showroom. Still owned by the Williams family, the group consists of 10 dealerships selling BMW, Mini and Land Rover vehicles across the northwest of England. Although sales dropped to £223.1m in 2009, profits rose to £4.6m.
