The Labour government has committed itself to reducing carbon-dioxide emissions by 20% from 1990 levels by the year 2010. If Britain manages to hit this target, it could be partly due to the wind farms developed, constructed and operated by Wind Prospect. Co-founded by Euan Cameron and Colin Palmer, the company is also a pioneer of wave power in Britain. Its WestWave project, based off the Cornish coast and run in partnership with the German energy firm Eon, will provide electricity for 3,000 homes from 2009. New business in Australia and China has helped the company to raise its sales 59% a year from £1.4m in 2003 to £5.6m in 2006.
