Windrush Frozen Foods cooks up complete recipes in its Oxfordshire kitchens for customers such as Ask, Bella Pasta and Café Rouge and then supplies the restaurants with the ingredients. As tastes and styles change the company’s chef Eddie Grimes is kept busy researching and developing new recipes which keep the company at the cutting edge of menu development. Robert Arpino led a management buyout of Windrush in 1995 when it was a struggling frozen-food supplier. Its sales have grown 66% a year from £1.8m in 1999 to £8.4m in 2002.
