This company provides customers such as Vodafone, Nestlé and JP Morgan with recruitment services that range from designing bespoke campaigns to placing advertisements and screening candidates. Work was founded by Michael Warren, Simon Howard and Steve Halford in 2000 with £1m of their own money. Jon Moulton, managing partner of Alchemy, the private-equity firm, also invested £800,000 of his own funds. The company raised £3m in venture capital in 2003 to acquire Park Human Resources. This doubled its number of customers to 200 and added expertise in assessing staff competence. The firm’s sales have risen 150% a year, from an annualised £2m in 2001 to £31m in 2004.
