Fast Track 100

Joint founders Jonathan Quin and Nick Robinson believe their company may have set a world record recently. One of the foreign-exchange broker’s customers saw euros arrive in his German bank account less than seven minutes after he booked a rate and transferred the sterling equivalent to World First. Although this feat has not yet made it into the Guinness Book of Records, the company’s claim is that this is the fastest “end-to-end” transaction ever, made possible by its proprietary technology. With about 35,000 private and corporate clients, mainly in Britain and Australia, the London-based company increased sales by 54% a year, from £3.3m in 2008 to £12m in 2011.
