This foreign exchange firm has processed £32bn since it was founded in a basement by Jonathan Quin, 40, and Nick Robinson, 41, in 2004. The London company launched in Australia in 2008, followed by the US and Asia, and its international revenue was £8.4m to January 2015. The business is chaired by former deputy governor of the Bank of England Sir David Clementi, 66, and is backed by US private-equity house FTV Capital, which bought a minority stake in 2013.
