Every year this online retailer sells more than 7m used books, CDs and DVDs to consumers in more than 170 countries. It trades via Amazon, eBay and its own websites, and claims to recycle 70m books a year by purchasing charities’ unwanted stock. The West Sussex business has also started wholesaling books to China, which helped international sales hit £11.7m last year. Chairman Ken Blair, 59, managing director Stephen Boobyer, 53, and four founding partners launched World of Books in 2008.
