WorldPay handles 13m card transactions a day in the UK, making it the country’s largest payment processor ahead of Barclaycard. Bain Capital and Advent International bought an 80% stake from RBS in November 2010 for £2bn. In April WorldPay acquired YESpay, a payment processor operating in the UK, Canada and India. Chief executive Philip Jansen, 46, joined from Bain-backed Brakes Group in April.
