Worldstores is an online retailer of home and garden products, operating 80 specialist sites that attract up to 2m visitors a month. Its online stores— such as and—offer 175,000 products, most of which can be delivered next day. The business has developed technology to process orders and link direct to suppliers’ stock management systems. Based in Twickenham, southwest London, and founded by Richard Tucker and Joe Murray, Worldstores raised £8.5m from Balderton Capital and Advent Venture Partners in July. Its sales have grown 50% a year from £6.6m in 2008 to £22m in 2011.
