Yorkshire Water closed its reservoirs to the public because of the pandemic and prioritised emergency assistance to people with health issues. It provides water and waste services for five million people across Yorkshire, and has more than 62,000 miles of pipework. Last year, it sold its non-household division to Scottish Water for an undisclosed sum and appointed Liz Barber, 54, chief executive. The company is owned by a consortium of international investors.
