Cecil Yuill, a former chimney sweep, founded this housebuilder in 1927. It is now headed by David McNaught, chief executive, and claims to build 350 luxury homes each year in northeast England. The Hartlepool company is also involved in urban regeneration and has contracts with councils in the Newcastle area. All this helped to boost profits by 69% a year from £2.2m in 2001 to an annualised £10.5m in 2004.
