A chat in a pub with his brother in 1995 convinced Richard Tang that the internet was going to be a moneyspinner. Soon afterwards he decided to cash in by founding Zen. Now the company supplies broadband connections to homes and businesses, and claims to be adding up to 2,000 subscribers a month to a current total of 35,000. Its customers include Sony Europe and Umbro. Zen Internet’s sales have risen 100% a year from £2m in 2001 to £7.8m in 2003.
