Tech Track 100

Co-founded by former professional footballer James Wilkinson, 35, and self-confessed petrolhead Ryan Dignan, 31, in 2006, this Macclesfield firm has developed software that matches up car buyers and loan providers. Its platform was developed by a 45-strong R&D team and now attracts 400,000 monthly visitors. The company, formerly known as Car Loan 4U, raised £8m from Scottish Equity Partners in 2014 and rebranded itself as Zuto last year. Boosted by sales growth to £23.1m in 2016, and a £2.5m funding package from Barclays in August, the business is hoping to recruit an extra 70 members of staff before the end of the year.
