Updated 31 July:
Over the past three months we have adapted our annual programme of networking events and league table supplements to the reality of the pandemic. In April we published a Sunday Times Profit Track Covid-19 supplement, and on 5 July we published a Covid-19 edition of our 19th annual Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 100 supplement, and in each of these we recognise the role UK private companies are playing in supporting the NHS and their communities.
Our awards and alumni networking events
We postponed national awards dinners and alumni networking dinners which were due to have taken place in the first half of the year. We are holding our postponed 23rd annual Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 conference and awards dinner as a virtual event on 16 September; our postponed 11th annual HSBC International Track 200 awards on 5 October and our postponed 21st annual Profit Track awards on 15 October will also be virtual events.
We are also holding a planned series of alumni networking dinners as virtual events in September, and plans to hold our events from November onwards are under review, subject to government advice.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, founder and chief executive of INEOS – the petrochemicals giant which responded to Covid-19 by building six hand sanitiser plants and distributing bottles of medical-grade gel freely to some of the world’s hardest-hit hospitals. Sir Jim spoke at our Profit Track 100 awards dinner in 2017.
Our league tables
Our research continues into Britain’s top-performing private companies, including identifying the country’s fastest-growing private tech (TMT) firms for the 20th anniversary edition of our Sunday Times Sage Tech Track 100, which will be published on 6 September.
On 27 September we will publish our 16th annual Sunday Times PwC Top Track 250 and, on 6 December, we will publish our 24th annual Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100.
On 5 July we published our 19th annual Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 100 Covid-19 edition. We hope it recognises the impressive past performance of Britain’s biggest private companies and their contribution to the economy at this challenging time. It also highlights the actions that many have taken in their businesses to support their local communities, the NHS and key workers during the pandemic. However, current trading is very difficult, with 13 companies already announcing more than 11,000 job cuts as a result of the pandemic.
Our 21st annual Sunday Times Profit Track Covid-19 edition was published in the Sunday Times on 26 April and on our website.
